KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has urged the government to make arrangements for free PCR testing of corona virus (Covid 19) for journalists who go to the workplace to collect news. FNJ Secretary General Ramesh Bista has issued a press release urging to arrange free PCR test for media personnel working in the workplace amid high risk of infection with Covid 19.
The federation has also appealed to all media persons to work only by giving high priority to their health safety to prevent the spread of the epidemic. The federation has also requested the media academy to make arrangements for working from home except for the most urgent needs and to create an environment for the media personnel working in the office and workplace to adopt adequate awareness along with the use of health materials.
Stating that the global spread of COVID-19 has been spreading rapidly in Nepal in recent days, he said that the Nepali media sector is collecting and transmitting news at high risk even in this complex epidemic situation.
