KATHMANDU: The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the vaccine against covid 19 will be available only by mid-2021. The World Health Organization’s chief scientist said it would take at least the middle of next year for the vaccine to hit the market in large quantities.
The chief scientist of the World Health Organization, Soumya Swaminathan, gave the information during a press conference on Friday. “I think it will be possible for the vaccine to hit the market only next year, after mid-2021,” he told a news conference.
He said that the vaccine would be available in the market at that time and then it would be available in different countries of the world.
He said the last batch of the vaccine, the third level trial, would be completed by the end of this year.
The results of the trial will be available by the end of this year or early next year, after which the vaccine production process will begin, he said.
