KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday night has decided to recommend to the President to convene the winter session of the Federal Parliament National Assembly.
According to Health and Population Minister Hridayesh Tripathi, the cabinet has decided to convene the winter session of the National Assembly along with the ministry-wise agenda. ‘There were some other ministry agendas. And it was decided to recommend convening the winter session of the Upper House National Assembly of the Federal Parliament, ‘he said.
According to Minister Tripathi, the President has been recommended to convene the winter session of the National Assembly on January 30. The cabinet meeting was held after 9:30 pm on Friday. The new ministers were welcomed at the cabinet meeting.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had added eight ministers and one minister of state after 7 pm on Friday. He was sworn in before the President and the Prime Minister.
The House of Representatives has been dissolved by President Vidyadevi Bhandari on the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli. The House of Representatives was dissolved on January 20.
According to the constitutional provision that the time between the two sessions of the parliament should not be more than six months, the session of the National Assembly has been convened from January 3.
The previous session of the federal parliament was abruptly adjourned by the President on the recommendation of the Prime Minister.
