12 hospitals selected to treat corona infected with plasma therapy

KATHMANDU: The National Health Research Council (NHRC) has designated 12 hospitals across the country for the treatment of corona infections through convulsant plasma therapy.

The government has Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Patan, Shukraraj Tropical and Early Disease Hospital, Nepalgunj Medical College, Karnali Institute of Health Sciences, Koshi, Narayani and Dhulikhel Hospitals.

Private member Medicity, Hams and Grandi Hospital have been selected for the treatment from Convective Plasma Therapy, said Council Member Secretary Pradip Gyawali.

  1. This method will be treated only with the voluntary consent of both the donor and the receiver.

  2. The donor must have recovered from a corona infection, shown no symptoms for the last 14 days, and met the criteria of the Nepal Red Cross Society for blood donation.

  3. Convulsive plasma receiver corona must be infected, 18 years old and hospitalized.

  4. A doctor’s opinion will be needed if the health condition is serious or life threatening.
