KATHMANDU: Youth leaders of the Nepali Congress have expressed concern over the formation of central departments in the party.
A dozen of youth central members issued a press release, questioning the legitimacy of the formation of department when only two months are left to hold the next convention of the party.
They argued it was sheer violation of the election code of conduct to appoint officials at the party departments while the date for the 14th general convention was already fixed. Such meaningless action must be scrapped, they underscored.
The youth leaders to issue press release are Dr Chandra Bhandari, Dhanraj Gurung, Kamala Pant, Gagan Thapa, Gururaj Ghimire, Pandri Pande, Ratna Sherchan, Jivan Pariyar, Pradip Poudel, Sarita Prasain, Ramkrishna Yadav, and Kiran Yadav.
They urged the party president to be a true patron of party statute. The party leadership has been further suggested to address the aspirations of the youths and real needs in the party. —
